CAGing India's future
It somehow suits this nation of intellectuals that has achieved 65% literacy and brandishes intellectual struggles such as Anna Hazare and Medha Patkar to give the socialist, or now the real, honest to ground, fair and upright and principled 'urban middle class' has a team in Cricket like Dhoni struggling at the same time losing to a sub 150 total consistently in Tests T20s and now ODIs against the same English opposition. But we digress to an older era when India was not used to winning..
Structurals reforms have come the hardest way to our nation. Many would argue none of the structural reforms have really made it, but to some one like me who was alive politically in the 90s ( means read the News and argued sometimes with friends..) they have come a long way with a lot of mental attrition making it difficult for one to keep the focus esp if one wants business done. It may well be that I continue my quasi self employed run into 2013 in such economic conditions where it is virtually impossible to get the job offer you want to walk to you but it is no longer feasible to turn a blind eye to corru-option as we did in the nineties. In the oughties we additionally had a virtual ly annual fair of DA cases against babudom and now we have State Lokpals and CAGs successfully using basic macro economic facts t o establish long ranging and deep corruption charges that were barely managed yet crept into all major economic sagas of the nation from the Commonwealth Games to 2g Telecom licenses and that esteemed man at the office of the DGH. It is difficult to pin Air india in the same category with that wilful negligence our urban middle class having already forgotten since we were flying Jet Airways and driving India's first F1 team but then the Nano fracas and the payoffs in the well of the Parliament were almost paid showings of a much anticipated theatre for us. i doubt if that somehow tell's India's Economic tale though..but what tales does it tell when something like thse showcases of investigative journalism happen like clockwork filling time between elections and never having conflicting critical breaking stories on the same bulletin..one can just wonder and play on the pitch provided..that too if one can stay on without getting terror cat calls, commenting on our public infrastructure and security..somehow it does not impede the flow of India's business and leaves me confident that India has a future even if Ia m already 40 and graying ..
